Uganda Health Equity Network post Conference Meeting, 25 September 1430pm
Following the EQUINET Regional Conference, the Uganda Health Equity Network (UHEN) held a post conference meeting on 25th September 230-530pm in the Victoria Ballroom to assess progress, define future work and launch some activities it will be undertaking in the coming two years. The meeting presented and discussed some of the findings from the health equity watch currently being developed in Uganda by HEPS and TARSC in EQUINET. The Uganda Health Equity Network (UHEN) is a network of Uganda health civil society organisations, health activists, research institutions and district based health advocacy coalitions that have come together to jointly address health, health equity and human rights issues in Uganda and to liaise with Networks working in similar areas and issues in other African Countries.
UHEN was born at national health equity conference organized by HEPS-Uganda, Makerere University's School of Public and EQUINET (March 2008 – Kampala ) as an advocacy and networking platform for action on priority health equity issues faced in Uganda and across African countries. UHEN aims to increase knowledge, collaboration and action of health civil society organizations engaged in the rights based approach to health in Uganda and to learn from organizations across Africa.
